Speaking at the "round table" at MGIMO, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Japanese cities, Naryshkin noted that international lawyers, philosophers, historians specialists in military science is still discussing whether it was actually used atomic weapons.
"In my opinion, there is no doubt: the method is elected in the 45th year of the USA, not based on any considerations of humanity nor on military necessity," said speaker of the state Duma, head of the Russian historical society (RIO).
Noting that "the Japanese militarists had committed then a lot of atrocities against the civilian population of China, Korea and other Asian countries", Naryshkin said that "the behaviour of mankind has given to civilized answer - the verdicts of the Tokyo and Khabarovsk tribunals".
